Before you hire

Bring the decision. Rough notes are enough.

An optional five-prompt note for your Clarity Call: what you sell, who you want to reach, what feels stuck and what you want to decide.

What do you want to decide about your website or search work? Start there. You do not need a presentation, keyword list, analytics export or a finished brief to have a useful conversation.

The free Clarity Call is 30 minutes on Google Meet, with video optional. You can request it directly. An Outside View is optional, and a launching business can start with rough notes before its website exists.

Download the optional one-page call note. Print it if you want space for handwritten notes, or copy the prompts into a document to type. The PDF is a printable sheet, not an online form. You can contact us with it unfinished.

Five prompts, if writing it down helps

Short notes are enough. Skip anything you do not know. These prompts are optional and do not need to be sent before you request a call.

  1. Business and website

What is the business, and where can we see it? A website or public page helps; rough launch notes are enough if there is no site yet.

  2. Priority service

Which service or offer would you most like the website to support?

  3. The buyer you want

Who needs that service, where do they operate and what makes an enquiry a useful fit?

  4. What feels stuck

What are you noticing? Include an example if you have one, without needing to diagnose the cause.

  5. The decision for this call

What would you like to decide? Mention any deadline, budget constraint or existing team that affects the choice.

An example of enough context

“We advise growing businesses on HR. Most clients come through referrals. Our site lists several services, but prospects keep asking whether we handle compensation work. We want to decide whether to improve that service page or rethink the wider site. Our developer can make changes.”

That is an illustrative note, not a client quotation or reported result. It identifies a service, buyer question and decision without requiring a traffic diagnosis or a technical brief.

Use what you already have

An existing Outside View, audit or example of a confusing enquiry can give the conversation context. Mention the relevant point and when you noticed it. You do not need to commission a new report or gather exports before requesting the call.

Keep client identities and private records out of the enquiry form. Describe a pattern in your own words. If later work needs evidence or access, we agree what is relevant and how to share it for that task.

If you are unsure which review to commission, read SEO audit or diagnosis. For responsibilities and approvals, see questions about working with us.

What happens after you request the call

We reply by email with times to choose from. Your form requests a conversation; it does not book a slot automatically.

On the call, we discuss the business, intended buyers, priorities, responsibilities and price. If a question needs further investigation, that becomes part of the direction to consider. The call may lead to a smaller first move, an agreed project or a decision to wait.

Within two business days after the call, we send the written direction: what we understood, the goal, first moves, responsibilities and price. You decide whether to proceed after reading it. The Clarity Call page explains the process and current terms.

Questions before the call

Do we have to complete this checklist to request a call?

No. It is optional. Tell us what you want to work through in the request form. Rough notes are enough, and you can leave the worksheet unfinished.

Can we talk before our website exists?

Yes. Bring the offer, intended buyers and decision you need to make. A public page about the business can help if you have one, but rough launch notes are enough for the call.

Do we need an Outside View, Search Console or analytics report?

No. You can request the call directly without any of them. If you already have an Outside View or a relevant observation, you can mention it. No export or account access is required to start.

Will the call identify every problem with the website?

The call establishes a direction, responsibilities and price. Some questions need a scoped investigation before a cause can be established. We distinguish the first move from anything that still needs checking.

Does requesting the call reserve a time?

No. We reply by email with times to choose from and agree a time with you. The call is free, lasts 30 minutes on Google Meet and does not require video.
